Inter-being
With Ourselves

We are an incredible kaleidoscope of shades and shapes of the natural and spiritual realms. If we practice inter-being with ourselves, we find that our self is truly a composition of all energies. Nothing permanent, nothing right or wrong, nothing that doesn't change. We are an expression of the flow of life, and every aspect of us is worthy of recognition and acceptance. If we choose to truly "take a closer look" at ourselves, we need to try to recognize all of our many " selves" before we try to understand the whole. Each color that refracts from a prism may have the appearance of individuality for that moment. But if it were removed from the spectrum, the original light would be diminished. Instead of attacking what we don't like about ourselves, maybe we should give those aspects enough energy to illuminate them. Instead of withholding and clouding our perception, we could truly observe each facet, experience how it resonates with our "whole", and then move toward action if needed. Inter-being allows us a clearer view of our sacredness, our beauty as expressions of creation. There is so much in our world now that is chaotic and unfamiliar. I am concerned that if each of us doesn't have a strong foundation in ourselves, we could be swept away in this tide. If we could all practice inter-being with ourselves, our relationships with each other and the universe would have to be easier. We could support each other in taking small but stable steps. A difficult path is made easier by slowing down, being present, and appreciating each step. All steps inter-being with the path, all paths inter-being with the journey, all journeys inter-being with the dream of Creator. Namaste' ladd |
