Beltane

It is suggested that the origin of Beltane shall be a combination of the name of the god Bel, and that of the Celtic work Teine, meaning fire. The spellings vary ~ Beltane, Beltain, Beltine or Bealltain.

Beltane is also known as May Day, and is one the eight Greater Sabbats.

Beltane marks the beginning of Summer!

Within the early times, the year was divided into halves; the summer months and the winter months.

The fertility Goddess dominates throughout the summer, with the Horned god during the winter months.

Beltane tradition includes jumping over the balefire. One would leap over the flames thus ensuring fertility and good health come their way as well as promote Spiritual cleansing for protection throughout the coming year.

Beltane is a celebration of sexuality and fertility where couples openly shared their passion with their partners. On the eve of Festival, men and women would gather flowers to decorate their homes. Wild flowers fill the senses, added visual brightness adding to the sensual pleasures... Orchids... White Roses...Lavendars... Deep Broad Stemmed Leaves... Daisies (for those without allergies) The Outdoor Lobelia Shall Be In Full Bloom, Within All Their Violet/Blue Hue Beauty!

The colours of Beltane ~ Vibrant and bright purples (to symbolize wine), green (peridot, the greenery in that forest brings to us), and gold (symbolizing the warmth in that the sun shines brightly upon us after a long winters' coldness).

Incense and Herbs ~

Incense should be vivacious, erotic and sexual. Rose, Jasmine, musk and vanilla. Herb combination of Woodruff, rose, chamomile, galangal and fern.

Wood choice, for myself, Oak, as it represents the structure, the support for the fire. Of the nine remaining options would be: Birch, ash, elder, apple, thorn, rowan, cedar and willow

Natasha's primary residence shall be within the So. California area... however... home shall be where my heart and soul are... within the Truckee ~ Tahoe Donner area.

Initial introduction to the wondrous publication; The Willow, has been threefold -

As travels home found frequent visits to that of the Rainbow Bridge - there, was introduced to Debi LeFaye... and through her, now onto The Willow publication.

The Craft has been, and continues to be an integral guiding light within my life... Goddess has directed me to that peaceful and serene path known as life.

Walk In Light,
