Using Everyday People as Role Models

by Anonymous

We can create a more positive energy flow in our lives by watching other people, observing them, and looking for the qualities they have that we wish to emulate. "Dont envy, emulate" is a mantra which can help us to channel our energy in a more positive direction. The key is to look for the hidden lessons in every person you meet. Observe people whom you consider to be successful or competent in areas in your life in which you wish to improve, whether its in your work, your spiritual practice, or your athletic endeavors. At your workplace, study those persons whom you consider to be successful, watch them, pick out their positive habits, and incorporate them into your own work routine. Watch the persons whom you admire spiritually, and see if you can adopt some aspects of their practice. In your athletic endeavors, study those people whom you consider to be at a higher level than yourself, and imitate their technique and training habits.

Even in casual encounters, look for the good in every person you meet. I love seeing my mailman each day, because, he is most always happy and positive and brings in with him great energy. Look for the good in every person you meet and that person becomes your teacher.

Making an effort to use each encounter we have with people on a daily basis, looking for the good they have to offer us, and turning them into everyday role models, can be our contribution to creating forward evolution for all of us.

"We have no friends, we have no enemies, we only have teachers."
