Of Art and Life
Immortalized, their eyes will forever meet ours though
their names and the content of their lives are long forgotten.
Viewing the incredible variety and styles of art this last
weekend at the deYoung Museum's showing of
Impressionist art infused me with that longing again
to draw, paint and explore my life through my art.
Plus hearing the San Francisco Symphony play in
the beautiful redwood setting of Stern Grove was
an amazing treat. People from all walks of life, all
nationalities were there to hear this inspiring music.

From the beginning of humankind we have been driven,
consumed by the desire to continue to leave a vibrant
record of who we are and our experiences of this life. Why?
Our ability to create art, to record our existence, our feelings,
to leave something of ourselves behind as we pass through
this world sets us apart from all other beings who have come
and gone here.

I looked into those eyes painted on the canvas, wondering
what their life story was, what they would say to me of their
times and place in history. They haunt me in my dreams
and waking hours so struck by the vibrancy the artist was
able to convey with some dried up minerals and oils.
What is it that drives us so?
What spark ignites our souls to bring these creations to life?

Many of our holy books and stories tell us that we were
set apart from other creations. That we are created in the
"image" of the one that made us. Obviously whatever the
"creator" is it has a wild imagination! Scientist's tell us
evolution is the way of creation though in my mind that
is the means of creation not the essence of the vast
consciousness that began it. Can an insect look at us
and perceive all that we are? No, and neither can we
look at the universe and know what the entirety of it is.
That would be a bit arrogant of us to think we can know
it all when we are out in what would be considered the
backwoods of the galaxy and haven't even got out of
our own solar system yet!

So, given that we are different from other species on the
planet by the very fact that we create art and record our
history maybe, just maybe, we have a little more of the
creator's abilities within us, that which makes us want to
constantly change our landscape and then record it.
I view that the "image" we have been made from is not
a physical one. Our bodies do not look like that of what
could have made us but our souls house that spark of
creation that forever ties us to the creator, in whatever
form it may be.

Art and music unites all of humanity. No matter what
our cultural backgrounds we can all appreciate and be
moved by the same picture, the same music. It is
what, I believe, the creator must have had in mind
when gifting us with that extra zing of a spark.
We are all one, creator and creation, together moving
forward to produce a richness within our experiences
that no other species has achieved before. We
continue to evolve and create beyond our wildest
imaginations.

I urge you to take the time to consciously create a
new masterpiece in our world. How would you
paint your life on canvas? How would you sing
the song of your life or play it's notes? Give
yourself over to that Divine creative spark and
make each day of your life a new work of art!

July Introspection's

One of our great customers was relating a story to me the other day that while
helping a friend with their "energy leaks" she realized the correlation to the
greater "energy leak" going on in Mother Earth in the Gulf of Mexico.
What an astute observation! I would like to share my thoughts with you on
this very poignant topic just in time for the New Moon on Saturday.
(See following article)

Our Mother Earth is leaking out Her precious black blood through a hole that we, as
the collective energy users, have drilled into Her. We can not put all the blame on BP.
We are all responsible for this tragedy. Every time we drive our cars, throw out those
plastic bags, use our indispensable body products or even the act of eating, we our
supporting the energy leakages in our Earth Mother. Now I am not advocating going
back to living in the caves here. Plugging all the holes in the Earth is not going to
be feasible for some time. What I would propose, at this time, is that we look deep
into the places we each leak energy and begin to plug these holes up as a way to
work towards plugging Mother Earth's leaks.

I know you're looking incredulous at the moment and asking how in the world will
that work? With Love. Love, as always, is the answer.
As we begin to love ourselves on a deeper level, we begin to love others on that
deep level also and then we deepen our love for all beings upon the Earth and by
doing so we begin to protect ourselves and the Earth Herself. When we look at
ways to help each other we look at ways to keep the environment we live in healthy.

The next question to ask yourself is where am I leaking energy? Where in your
life are you feeling drained? This is not the feeling of being drained after doing
something that brought you joy. Like having a baby. The hardest work you will
probably ever do and you definitely feel drained! Then you look into that baby's
face and love blooms. No energy leaks there!

Then look at what you do or who you are hanging out with that leaves you
feeling unhappy, frustrated, even angry. These feelings arise once in awhile
though when this is a constant complaint in your life it's a major energy leak.
You are out of balance by giving so much of yourself, not setting boundaries
with yourself or others that you are literally drained of your precious life energy.
When this happens your unhappiness spreads out through the world as the
proverbial ripples on the pond, affecting everyone on the planet. Our emotions
affect everyone on the planet as we are all connected. Let that sink in a moment.
We are all responsible for each other and every being here.

So here are some suggestions on how to plug our personal leaks and by doing
so plug up the larger energy leaks on the planet. As above, so below!
See yourself in love with yourself.
Surround yourself with inner light, love, hugs and kisses. Do positive things for
yourself. If you can not do good things for you how do you expect to be able to
sustain doing good for others?
First we must address our feelings of not being worthy to be loved like
"who could love me I'm such a mess?" Or feeling that we are not "good" enough
to have the life we desire or the pressure that we have to be like everyone else
or do what everyone else tells us to do to be loved.

It begins somewhere in childhood when these emotions took hold of us. We must
follow that path back to the times we heard negative emotions directed at us and plug
the emotional tear in our psyche with a large sphere of love energy. Each person will
have a vision of what love looks like to them. On an energy level you can imagine a
glowing, vibrant pink light that you see molding itself to fit the leaking energy hole in
your heart when words or actions wounded you. Or use the "violet flame" to bring
healing to the tear. There are many ways to envision love and healing energies.
Forgiveness is going to be a necessary ingredient to stir into the mix. Forgiveness of
yourself for anything you perceive you have "done wrong" and forgiveness of the people
who you feel "wronged you". This is the first step to truly finding the immense capacity
you have within to love.

Once you have gone through and filled the holes you know you have you will want to fill
in the little cracks that might linger as you are unaware of anything specific to relate them
too. Surround your entire being in the loving light of Divine Grace. It is there for all to partake
of using whatever form is appropriate for you .
Prayer, meditation, chakra clearing, soul retrieval are some of the techniques you will need
to continue the process of letting go the old wounds and closing the leaks that drain you.
Know that help is always available when we ask for it and are open to receive it.

When we open our hearts to love ourselves we can then extend that love to our family, friends,
community and the world at large. Loving ourselves is not a selfish act, it is a necessary act
to bring peace onto the entire planet. When we love ourselves we will do what is right for
all. When each of us takes on the responsibility to love without hesitation, without restrictions,
with compassion, then fear will not have a hold on us and we will not feel drained and joyless.

So be good to yourself and do good for the world by loving yourself. It will spread through
all, like those ripples on the pond, and heal ourselves and Mother Earth.

New Moon July 11th, 12:40pm PDT
Sunday the 11th brings the New Moon appearing in Cancer and with it a Solar Eclipse.
Both the Sun and Moon will reside in Cancer allowing receptive, feminine energies to
flourish and help bring balance into our lives from the more assertive energies we have
all been sensing lately. The Moon is the ruling planetary body for Cancer representing
our emotions. Soft, dreamy, yin energy will have us looking more deeply into how we
view our feminine sides, how we relate to our moms and how we nurture ourselves and
others. This is a great time for inner reflection and releasing those ideas, habits and
relationships which we feel no longer truly serve our greater good. The Solar Eclipse
will bring us the ability to take advantage of a fresh start, with a little focus and
commitment, of the new opportunities coming our way later in the month.
Right now though relax, dream, journal, tune in to what is going on in your life and what
needs changing then have patience with yourself and others while in the process of
letting go. You will begin to feel refreshed and ready to expand into new and exciting
areas of life that await you after the Full Moon.

July Skies
Summer is in full swing now and fortunately the astrological influences
of this month will allow us a bit of a reprieve from the intensity we have
all been experiencing with last months grand cross and lunar eclipse.
The universe is giving us time to process the changes that have been
taking place before leaping onto the next bed of coals.
So take advantage of this time to really examine your goals and habits.
What is realistic for you to be able to accomplish right now and what is it
time to let go of? Bringing more focus to the goals that are truly dear to
your heart is a good place to begin this month. Your whole viewpoint
of the world and your place in it may be up for a good long review.

The solar eclipse in Cancer on the New Moon of July 11th is a good time
to listen to our inner voices and tune into our feelings of what we truly
need in our lives. You may find that you are ready to release some of the
old baggage you have been dragging around which has prevented you from
enjoying the journey. Time to get lighter and set out on a new adventure!

When home loving Cancer gives way to fun loving Leo on July 22nd be
ready with your paint brushes as you will want to create a whole new canvas
of your life with a new found confidence of self-expression and creativity and
maybe throw in a little romance to spice things up.

All in all you should find this to be a productive month if you attune yourself
to the energies coming in.

Please take time this month to look up into the night sky to see the
wondrous display of celestial lights. We are near "aphelion" (July 6th) when
the Earth is the farthest away from our sun. How can it be so warm when we

Bring out the binoculars all month for some spectacular displays of the galaxies
and planets. Mars, Venus and Saturn will be playing with each other all month
and lining up one hour after sunset on July 15th.
Be ready for August as it is "meteor" month.

Talk about fireworks in the night sky- did you know that a supernova around
July 4th,1054 created the Crab Nebula? It's recorded around the world from
China to Chaco Canyon (in petroglyphs!).
So make sure to get out at on these warm nights and look up at where we are
all from for some great summer fun!

2010- A New Decade Begins!
A new year and the beginnings of a new decade are upon us! 2010, numerologically, brings us to the Universal 3 year.
(The numerological "decade" actually began in
2008 [ 2+ 8 = 10 = 1] and lasts till
2017 [ 2 + 7 + 1 = 10 =1]
covering the transit of Pluto through Capricorn
but that's another whole article in itself!)
The number three has deep meaning in many
aspects of our lives as it represents our
mind-body-spirit connection,
the triad from the "one" to duality to
synthesis and integration. The three works
with how we communicate and express
ourselves in the world around us.
So to make the dance more interesting we begin
this new year and new decade in Mercury retrograde! Mercury is the planetary ruler of communication.
A "retrograde" period means the planet
appears to be moving backwards from
our vantage point on the Earth.
With this configuration our plans of moving
forward in our lives will be put on "pause".

On the surface this might not seem auspicious
but I assure you in the long term it will be.
You might want to wait till February though to
begin all those New Year's resolutions if you
want them to take hold, as new projects
or major decisions will likely have to be
redone and relived when madeduring a
Mercury retrograde.
From December 26th to January 15th,
Mercury will be in this position, giving us a
chance to review and finish up old business
before starting on our new course.

The Chinese New Year, (the year of the Tiger)
on the New Moon of February 14th,
will be the time to put forth your
most inspiring ideas, start your new projects
and begin to fulfill your wildest passions.
On the planetary level, this is the year to
join with others to organize and communicate
your thoughts on how to create a world
we truly want to live in.

As we hurtle towards 2012 we want to position
ourselves to embrace the personal and
planetary changes that will abound.
Numerologically, 2012 is the Universal 5 year
and represents great change as the Mayans
and other cultures have predicted. We are in
the midst of literally creating a new world!
By 2017 our little part of the universe
will look very different than it does now.
Begin this year by opening yourself up to new
ways of thinking and then taking action to
insure the new world will be one where
everyone can live without fear,
hunger, poverty, oppression, where all
enjoy harmony and the potential to make
their dreams come true for the betterment of
all species on the planet.
See the positive future we can all create now,
believe in it and then go out and live it!

New Year "Feng Shui" FYI

If you are like me, you put off organizing your
mounds of "stuff" till the absolute moment when
you can no longer get by the piles without
serious damage to oneself. So this article is
not for those who are always neat and tidy
and their homes and offices look more like
showcases than places they actually live
and work. It's for the rest of us who
have the best of intentions to be virtuously
neat but continuously fail to achieve
our high minded goal.

The flow of energy or "chi" in the universe is a continuous process.
To be in that rhythm and flow requires a certain order to be
maintained so that the universe will support you in manifesting
your desires. The art of Feng Shui, which translates to
"wind and water" which is as flowy as you can get, can help
immensely towards that goal with some very simple techniques.

Now these techniques are very basic and what your
Mother taught you many years ago but in our extremely
busy lives we may not feel we have the time.

First, to help you transition from your sleep world
to the day world start by making your bed
(as your Mama told you), fluffing those pillows,
making sure when it's time to fall back into your
bed in the evening it is comfy, cozy and so
inviting for that deep rest we all so
desperately need. Tidy up your room of repose
as it will inspire you through the rest of the day
to be more organized in other areas of your life.

The other crucial area for mental clarity to start
the day is your bathroom. Now you're probably
thinking did the great sages of yesteryear really
care how clutter-free their bathroom was?
I would bet they had more than a "tidy bowl"
in their toilette. How else did all those great
thoughts make it through the mind clutter of
"when was the last time those towels were washed?"
So hang those towels up, throw away the bottles
of old lotion, the dried up tubes of lip balm and
last week's newspaper (unless you have run out
of toilet paper of course) and keep your bathroom
a place for great thoughts to occur!

Now I know the next one can be really difficult
but your boss will be really impressed and you will
open the door to new opportunities and prosperity
by cleaning your desk and work areas every day
before leaving work. I know, I know, I hear
the groaning and moaning about all those piles
of paper you can't possibly file today!
No worries, man, just place them in neat piles,
folders or desk organizers till they can be
put in their final resting place.
The goal here is to leave a clear and open
space in front of where you work so new
information and prospects can flow into your
life each and every day.
While we are on the work subject do
remember to clear your computer too. We
all have ancient emails, outdated files and
old game packages we no longer use and should
delete, delete, delete!
Especially pay attention to the clutter in your
email inbox. You want to energetically invite
new contacts. Create folders for storing emails
you need to keep so your inbox is fresh
and available to bring in abundant new resources.

Now a couple of other points to get you off to a
grand start for the New Year. Keep your
home and office well lit. Clutter likes to
accumulate in dark areas especially corners.
Replace broken lights, appliances, furniture as
soon as possible so the energy does not slow
you down with inefficient use.
Keep the center of home and work space
clear and open to invite clear thoughts
and a more organized life.
Pay very close attention to the entryway of
your home. Make sure it is bright
and clear of any clutter like shoes, coats,
toys, trash etc. Make the entryway to and
from your world beautiful and harmonizing so
you may\carry that energy through the day.
This also includes walking into your home
through the front door, not the garage or side door.
The goal is to bring positive "chi" into your home
or out into the world by a visually stimulating and
clutter-free opening creating a peaceful
and beautiful environment.
That's the place I want to live in!

Making a commitment to practice these techniques
daily engenders good health, prosperity and
blessings that will flow swiftly into your life.
Plus you'll make your Mother proud.
