Happy 18th Birthday to The Rainbow Bridge!

Eighteen years ago, this Friday, September 3rd, after 3 months of intense labor, the
Rainbow Bridge was born! My fourth "baby" came into being and unknown to us at the time, just like any child, was what she would become when she grew up. Well now she has come of age and like any parent we take great pride in the obstacles she has overcome and the achievements she has accomplished.

The Rainbow Bridge was born in Truckee and lived the first few years of life in the building that now houses the wonderful community center "For Goodness
Sake". We like to think we were responsible for setting the energy there as we had many ceremonies and classes in the upstairs room which we continue to help energize with our Kirtan band "Ziva!".

In numerology, The Rainbow Bridge's birth number is 7. We didn't realize it at the time but seven is the number denoting spirit (3) manifesting into matter (4).
Love the synchronicity! Another synchronistic moment in the birth of The Rainbow
Bridge was when my photographer husband, David Freeman, was standing on the bridge at Lower Yosemite Falls taking a picture of the lunar rainbow that only happens once a year during the full moon. That was on the same day that
the concept and name, "The Rainbow Bridge", was conceived. Come by and enjoy the beautiful photograph that developed from that moment, capturing for all time

Universal forces intervened in our little world and moved us to Tahoe City in 1995 where The Rainbow Bridge spent her formative years in two different locations. The first 8 years were right on the main street across from the art center.
We celebrated many fun festivals in that location, held classes and meditations and look back fondly on how our community grew during those years. When our lease was up there we moved to the Cobblestone Center where we were able to expand and develop a healing center.

As my other children grew and left the nest I felt the need for other avenues of creativity so for a little fun and excitement we developed a second store concept, The Rainbow Bridge Too, For the Wild Woman in You.

Time moves on and with it all things must change so we moved on from those concepts
and focused our energies on creating what for me feels like the pinnacle of our efforts, The Rainbow Bridge in the Village at Squaw Valley.

Nestled in the majestic arms of the Mother, this beautiful creation came into being in 2007. Alas, we said goodbye to our Tahoe City location in 2009 and look forward to what the coming years may bring.

And now, as of Beltane 2011, we have moved from Squaw Valley to create a new
chapter for The Rainbow Bridge. Transforming once again, we are coming home to
where it all began in Truckee, California. Look for our re-opening shortly!

We have certainly lived our motto "The Rainbow Bridge is more than a store,
it's an experience!" through these years. We hope that you, our friends, clients and
community, feel that we have provided a valuable resource in your lives. A place
that you can rely on to be able to explore the many philosophy's and avenues of
personal healing, spirituality and a gathering place for a few moments of peace and respite from the daily dramas of life.

We hope to continue, in whatever form the Universe decrees, for many years
to come, always in service to the highest good for ourselves and our community.
